Hello! My name is Kelly Miller and I am excited to be here. I look forward to helping all members of the parish grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus Christ and his Church! I want to do what I can to support all parents in their mission as primary educators.
I am a second generation Lansingite (Lansinger?) who grew up on the south side of town. I graduated from Everett High School. Go Vikings! I currently share a house on the north side of Lansing with 3 cats, 1 dog, 1 human roommate and various backyard chickens.
I was raised Catholic but fell away from the faith during my teen years. In college (way over in East Lansing), God called me back to Himself. I went through RCIA and received the sacrament of confirmation at St. John Student Parish in 2001.
My faith life continued to grow and I was able to complete a Masters in Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. I moved back to Lansing to help care for my mom and got involved in the Totus Tuus young adult group here at St. Mary.
I cannot stress enough the importance of having/seeking faithful community and friends in your life! Christian life is meant to be lived in relationship and communion. If you are seeking that now, a great place to start is our Welcome Wednesday group, or any of the other groups here at the cathedral. As the saying goes...See the bulletin for details!
I started this role at the Cathedral in 2022 after working at Michigan State University. While I'll always be a Spartan, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this parish. Let's keep each other in prayer - Ave Maria!
