My name is Margie Villarreal-Krawczyk and I serve as the Parish Secretary, here at St. Mary Cathedral. I have been a member of the Staff since 2004.
Ever since I was little I have been a part of parish ministry. I began my love for parish ministry at a very young age, following my mother along, in our home parish, as she planned and prepared lessons as a catechist, visited families as a Vincentian for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, attended prayer groups, and even as she worked as the parish secretary for a year. My years of being active in my home parish as a choir member/director, Catechist for Youth Ministry, Director of Confirmation, and team member for numerous retreats for children, teens and adults has in turn immersed me into the life of the Church on a bigger scale. Being an active Catholic in the Diocese of Lansing and building strong connections in the community is how I even was invited to join the staff of the Cathedral.
In 2005 I met my husband (Raymond) and he soon began his work in various departments at the Diocese of Lansing, eventually landing as a Family Service Representative at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. We were married in June of 2007. Although Raymond is now a truck driver, enjoying the open road, he continues to treasure the opportunities in which he was able to be a part of your lives, working with many you in the burial needs of your loved ones. He thinks of you often.
My favorite experience here at the Cathedral has been every relationship that has been formed with you and your families. Over the years I have been able to call so many of you friends. I hope to be able to serve you for many years to come and I pray that I can always help to make your experience with the business end of your parish a pleasant one, even if all I can do is offer a listening ear or a smile!
