The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which adults learn about Jesus Christ and Christianity. It prepares a person to join the Catholic Church. It is for those who have never been baptized or those who were baptized in another Christian community. For those age 7-17, a similar- and age appropriate Rite of Christian Initation of Children process exists.
RCIA involves regular meetings with other religious seekers and a teacher (catechist) and includes discussion, prayer, and teaching. Individuals can contact the RCIA director anytime to talk one-on-one and learn more about the process. After a period of formation, participants may feel called to formally enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. They can do this by receiving the needed sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. The process can take a few months to a few years, depending on the individual. Contact Kelly today to begin the next stage in your journey. God bless you!
