Welcome to St. Mary Cathedral’s Religious Education Program!
Formation Education for your child will begin on Sunday, September 11th, 2016 at 9:40-10:50AM. The program includes kindergarten through eighth grade classes, which meet weekly on Sunday mornings.
We have Religious Education at this time because it is right in between the two Sunday Masses (8:30AM and 11:00AM) so that you and your family may fulfill your Sunday obligation and receive spiritual nourishment through the Sacrament of the Eucharist and through religious instruction in Religious Education for your children.
Last year, many families did not have good attendance at Religious Education. This is a reminder that children are expected to attend every class. In rare and extreme circumstances when a conflict does occur, please notify me, Rebecca Rossi, prior to your child’s absence. All students will be given an evaluation exam at the end of the year to make sure that they are prepared to go on to the next grade level according to Diocesan standards; please help set up your child for success.
This year, we will be offering Adult Confirmation Preparation during Lent and Easter. If you have not yet received this sacrament, you know someone who has not received Confirmation, or you wish to learn more about the Catholic Faith please contact me, Rebecca Rossi, to sign up. More information will come later this year.
Also, we will again have the Sacrament of Reconciliation available to all classes during Lent. Parents and Guardians, you are invited to join your children and benefit yourselves through receiving this sacrament of God’s Forgiveness and Mercy!
If you have any questions or you would like to discuss Religious Education more with me. Feel free to reach me at (517) 484-5331 ext. 16, or you may email me at email@example.com.
Have a blessed day, and I look forward to the year ahead that I get to enjoy with you and your family!
In Christ through Our Lady,
Director of Religious Education
